PH Mix Of New And Veteran Candidates A Strategic Move In Johor Polls

Date:

Pakatan Harapan (PH) believes its mix of experienced leaders and younger candidates in the Johor state election is a strategic move aimed at strengthening voter support across the state.

Johor DAP chief Teo Nie Ching said the coalition, particularly DAP, is fielding candidates from diverse age groups and backgrounds across the 17 seats it is contesting.

She cited the return of seasoned candidates such as Stulang incumbent Andrew Chen Kah Eng and Tangkak incumbent Ee Chin Li, both of whom are contesting for their fourth terms in their respective constituencies.

Teo said the presence of veteran leaders is important in guiding newer candidates, especially those fielded in key constituencies as part of the party’s renewal process.

She made the remarks after officiating the Hati Stulang campaign event, adding that the blend of experience and fresh faces reflects a balanced and dynamic leadership lineup.

According to her, this approach demonstrates PH’s commitment to providing effective service delivery while also nurturing a new generation of leaders.

She expressed confidence that the combined strength of experienced and new candidates would ensure continuity and stronger representation for voters in Johor.
