A car was completely destroyed in a fire near Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pusat Lawas earlier this morning.
A spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre said firefighters from the Lawas Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 8.27am.
He said the fire involved a vehicle that was 100 per cent engulfed, with the blaze originating from the engine compartment.
Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control and successfully extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported in the incident, according to the statement.
The operation was concluded at 8.50am once the area was confirmed safe.
