Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has caught the attention of social media users after visiting the grave of his late wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, on Thursday.
In a post shared on Threads by Putrajaya MP Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Mahathir was seen sitting in a wheelchair beside his wife’s grave, accompanied by several individuals.
In the video, Mahathir also thanked those who had come to pay their respects at the grave of his beloved wife.
“Thank you to everyone who came to visit Hasmah’s grave,” he said briefly.
The post drew numerous reactions, with many social media users expressing relief at seeing Mahathir looking neater and more radiant.
“Alhamdulillah, Tun looks much tidier. May he be given strength, good health and always remain under Allah SWT’s blessings,” one user commented.
Another wrote: “Alhamdulillah, Tun M looks healthier now. The sadness on his face is not as noticeable as it was in the early days. May Tun M always be healthy.”
One user even remarked that Mahathir appeared to have regained his youthful appearance.
“Tun looks younger and radiant. He looks like he did in the old days,” the user said.
Another pointed out his apparent new haircut, writing: “Tun has a new haircut! Looking smart. May you stay healthy and find peace, Tun. We are here and will always support you.”
Meanwhile, some users were touched by Mahathir’s visit to his late wife’s grave, with one wondering whether he visited every day.
“Does Tun visit the grave every day? He must miss her so much,” the user commented.
Siti Hasmah died at the age of 100 at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 28.
She was accorded a State Funeral and laid to rest at Pusara Negara in Precinct 20, Putrajaya, on the same day.
