Deadly Alligator Attack In Florida River Claims Woman’s Life

Date:

A 31-year-old woman has been killed in a brutal alligator attack while swimming in a river in Florida, in a shocking incident that unfolded in front of her boyfriend, who desperately tried to save her.

Brittany Clark was ambushed in the murky waters of the Econlockhatchee River at Little Big Econ State Forest, where she had been swimming with her partner, 30-year-old Chance Allison, and a roommate when the attack occurred.

Witnesses said the animal suddenly emerged from the water and launched a vicious assault, inflicting catastrophic injuries before dragging her underwater during what officials later described as a “death roll” manoeuvre.

Allison fought to pull the reptile away and attempted CPR on shore after managing to bring Clark out of the river, but despite frantic rescue efforts, she later died in hospital.

In emotional remarks, Allison said he was still struggling to process the tragedy, describing Clark as a “special person” and expressing heartbreak over the plans the couple had hoped to share in the future.

He also pledged to care for her pets and announced plans for a memorial gathering in her honour, as tributes poured in from family and friends.

Authorities confirmed that multiple large alligators were later captured by wildlife officials as investigations continue into the fatal encounter.
