A man in his 40s was injured after being struck by a falling durian tree in an incident at Jalan Batu Hampar, Kampung Matang Keramat at around 10am on Friday.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said the victim suffered a broken right leg and a fractured left arm as a result of the accident.
According to the department, the Kedah Operations Centre received an emergency call at 10.07am before dispatching a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) unit from the Yan Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
A team of six firefighters arrived at the location at about 10.20am to carry out rescue operations.
The operation commander, Senior Fire Officer II Bahari Ahmad, said a durian tree had fallen onto a house at the scene, trapping the victim on the upper part of the structure.
Firefighters used special equipment to extricate the victim before handing him over to the Ministry of Health (KKM) for further treatment.
The operation was brought under control at 10.30am and fully concluded by 10.46am.
