Man Arrested In Shah Alam Over Alleged Sexual Offences Involving Teen Students

Date:

A man who had been wanted by police over serious sexual offence allegations involving two teenage students has been arrested in Shah Alam following a swift operation.

Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah confirmed that the suspect, believed to be in his 30s, was detained at a restaurant in the city at 12.01am on Saturday. The arrest came shortly after reports were lodged by two 15-year-old male students from a college in Glenmarie.

Police said the case has drawn strong attention due to its sensitive nature, with authorities stressing that investigations involving minors are treated with the highest priority. Such cases also reflect wider concerns about safeguarding students within educational environments.

Preliminary findings indicate that one of the victims claimed he was molested in a bathroom within the college dormitory, while the second alleged he was sexually assaulted at the suspect’s residence located in Section 18, Shah Alam. The incidents are believed to involve the same individual.

Investigators also revealed that the suspect is reportedly employed at the college involved and has a prior criminal record linked to sexual offences against children. In cases of this nature, past records often play a key role in strengthening ongoing investigations and assessing patterns of behaviour.

Authorities further noted that public cooperation remains crucial in resolving sensitive criminal cases, particularly when victims are minors. Community awareness and timely reporting are often essential in helping law enforcement act quickly.

The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 377C of the Penal Code. Police have urged anyone with additional information to contact the investigating officers to assist in the probe.
