Police have arrested the mother of two children who were seen in a viral video sticking their heads out of a moving car’s sunroof.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 30-year-old woman was detained today after giving her statement at the Kajang district police headquarters and was later released on police bail.

He said authorities had identified the viral footage showing the two children, aged four and six, engaging in the dangerous act on social media.

The incident is believed to have taken place along the Grand Saga Highway near Kampung Batu 10, Cheras, with a police report lodged at 5.28pm on the same day.

Naazron said the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 336 of the Penal Code.

Members of the public with information have been urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector S. Tharani, to assist with investigations.

He also reminded road users to always comply with traffic laws and prioritise safety, especially when children are involved.
