AirBorneo Warns Of More Flight Delays And Cancellations As Aircraft Maintenance Continues

Date:

AirBorneo has warned passengers to expect further flight delays, cancellations and schedule changes over the coming days as ongoing aircraft maintenance continues to affect its operations across Sabah and Sarawak.

In a statement issued on Monday, the airline said the disruptions, which have impacted flights since June 5, were caused by a combination of unscheduled technical rectification work on several aircraft, planned maintenance, as well as operational and crew duty requirements.

AirBorneo stressed that passenger safety remains its top priority, adding that aircraft requiring technical attention have been temporarily withdrawn from service as a precaution until engineers confirm they are safe to operate.

“With several aircraft undergoing maintenance and technical rectification at the same time, our operating fleet remains temporarily constrained.

“As a result, passengers should anticipate the possibility of further schedule changes, cancellations and delays over the coming days as aircraft are progressively returned to service,” the airline said.

Passengers travelling during the affected period have been advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport to minimise inconvenience.

The airline said its teams are working around the clock to reduce disruptions and rebook affected passengers onto the earliest available alternative flights.

AirBorneo added that it remains committed to restoring its full flight schedule as quickly as possible without compromising safety, while continuing to maintain essential air connectivity across Sabah and Sarawak.

The airline also thanked passengers for their patience and understanding, adding that customers affected by the disruptions are being contacted directly with updates on rebooking arrangements and assistance.
