Date:

Police are appealing to the public for help in locating a 14-year-old boy who mysteriously disappeared after taking his family’s pet dog for an evening walk in Taman Permata on Sunday.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said the teenager, identified as N Barath, was last seen leaving his home at around 7pm. His disappearance was only discovered about an hour later when he failed to return.

According to a police statement issued on Tuesday, a woman lodged a report after extensive efforts to locate the teenager proved unsuccessful. While searching the area, the family found their pet dog tied to a tree by the roadside near their home, but there was no sign of the missing boy.

The unusual discovery has raised concern as police continue their search for the teenager. Authorities are urging members of the public to remain alert and report any information that could assist in locating him.

At the time of his disappearance, Barath was wearing a blue T-shirt and black jeans. He is approximately 155cm tall, weighs around 62kg, has dark skin, black hair and was not wearing glasses.

Police have urged anyone with information on the teenager’s whereabouts to contact the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters Control Centre at 03-4289 7222, visit the nearest police station, or reach the investigating officer, Sergeant Mohd Saiful Shahfuzi Mohd Radzi, at 019-3202055 to assist with the investigation.
