Woman Left Terrified After Stranger Breaks Into Rawang Home, Suspect Arrested Hours Later

Date:

A woman experienced a terrifying ordeal after an unknown man allegedly broke into her home in Taman Tun Teja, Rawang while she was in the kitchen on Monday.

The suspect was arrested just hours later after a police Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) team spotted him during a routine patrol near the scene.

Gombak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Husin said police first became aware of the incident after a video of the alleged break-in went viral on social media. Checks later confirmed that the victim had lodged a police report at 7.49pm.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident took place at around 5.15pm when a local man allegedly entered the woman’s house without permission while she was alone in the kitchen. The frightened homeowner immediately contacted the police for assistance.

Acting on information received, MPV officers from the Rawang Police Station arrested the suspect at about 11.30pm the same day while patrolling near the location of the incident.

Police have opened an investigation under Section 448 of the Penal Code for house trespass. The investigation papers have since been completed and submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect has been charged at the Selayang Magistrate’s Court.

Police have reminded the public to remain vigilant by ensuring their homes are properly locked to reduce the risk of trespassing incidents. Authorities also said regular patrols will continue to be intensified to prevent similar cases from happening again.
