A resident’s quick action in putting out a fire helped prevent the flames from spreading further at a house in Taman Cahaya here this morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre spokesperson said a team from the Limbang Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 9.36am.
The fire involved the ceiling area of a non-permanent room structure, with about three per cent of the section affected by the blaze.
According to JBPM, the fire had already been extinguished by the house occupant before firefighters arrived at the location.
No firefighting operation was required from the rescue team, with personnel only carrying out inspections to ensure the area was completely safe and the fire had been fully put out.
The operation concluded at 9.50am.
