Driver Horrified After Discovering Corpse In Back Seat Of His Car

Date:

A 61-year-old man in Thailand was left horrified after discovering the body of an unidentified woman lying in the back seat of his car, apparently after unknowingly driving with the corpse inside.

According to local media, the man, identified as Chanasin, runs a meat stall at a local market. The incident is believed to have been linked to a faulty door lock on his vehicle, which had left the car unlocked overnight.

After closing his stall the previous evening, Chanasin drove home and parked his car outside his residence. The next morning, he drove to the market as usual without noticing anything unusual inside the vehicle.

Moments before arriving, he reached for a bag on the front passenger seat and suddenly felt something touch his back. When he turned around and switched on the interior light, he was shocked to discover what appeared to be a woman’s foot protruding from the rear seat.

A closer look revealed the body of an elderly woman lying across the back seat. Chanasin immediately called the police.

Officers, forensic personnel and investigators arrived at the scene and found the body of a woman believed to be between 60 and 70 years old. She was not carrying any identification documents.

Police said the woman was found leaning against the rear seat. A preliminary examination found no visible signs of injury or assault. Investigators estimated she had died several hours before her body was discovered.

Chanasin, who was visibly shaken, told police he had never met the woman and denied any involvement in her death.

He believes the woman may have entered the unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside his home, possibly seeking shelter from the rain or a place to rest. He suspects she may have suffered a sudden medical emergency and died inside the car.

Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and are collecting forensic evidence, including fingerprints, to establish the woman’s identity and determine the exact cause and circumstances of her death.
