Man Killed, Wife Injured After Car Skids and Overturns in Perak

A man was killed while his wife sustained minor injuries after the car they were travelling in skidded and overturned in front of a furniture shop on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah earlier today.

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant director of operations, Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah, authorities received a call about the accident at 8:06 am. Nine personnel from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.

“The man, 55, was pinned on the driver’s side of the Toyota Corolla Altis and was confirmed dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel. His wife, 48, sustained minor injuries and received early treatment before being sent to the hospital,” Shazlean said in a statement.

The victim’s body was extricated using hydraulic equipment before being handed over to the police for further investigation.
