A 37-year-old man with a history of seizures was found dead near Kampung Sebuluh Cina, Lundu this afternoon.
The victim, identified as Chang Han Yong, was discovered lying beside his boat with foam around his mouth after being reported missing earlier.
The Lundu Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call regarding the incident at about 3.16pm before a team was sent to the location to conduct checks.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim’s mother noticed that her son had not returned home by around 8am after she came back from the market.
She later travelled to Bau and informed authorities that Chang had been suffering from seizures since he was 17 years old.
“She was later informed that her son had been found unconscious near his boat, and a police report was subsequently lodged,” Bomba said in a statement.
Medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed that the victim had died, before his body was handed over to the police for further action.
The operation was concluded at 4.15pm after the authorities completed their initial response at the location.
