The Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA) of Bukit Aman will deploy about 200 officers and personnel to assist with the smooth running of the Negeri Sembilan state election.
JKDNKA director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the deployment would involve both manpower and logistics support to ensure the election process is carried out safely and efficiently.
He said the assistance would follow a similar approach used during the previous Johor election, with all departments under the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) also involved in supporting election security operations.
“I have instructed that training and cooperation be carried out together with the Election Commission (SPR).
“This is to ensure the election process runs smoothly and safely, allowing voters to exercise their rights without fear,” he said during a press conference after the closing ceremony of the KDNKA 2026 Obstacle Test today.
Also present was Deputy Director of Internal Security and Public Order (General Operations Force) Datuk Mohamad Suzrin Mohamad Rodhi.
The 16th Negeri Sembilan state election officially began with the nomination process on July 18, involving all 36 state assembly seats.
SPR has set July 28 as the early voting date, while polling day will take place on Aug 1.
The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved early last month to pave the way for the state election, despite the previous term expected to end in 2028.
Meanwhile, Mohd Yusri said the KDNKA obstacle test is an annual traditional event that has been organised for more than 30 years.
He said the programme aims to assess the physical and mental strength, leadership abilities, teamwork and discipline of officers and personnel.
“JKDNKA is a semi-military department within PDRM that is responsible not only for maintaining public order and security but also safeguarding national sovereignty,” he said.
He added that the endurance and obstacle challenges are designed to test the preparedness of personnel in facing demanding duties.
The four-day event, which started on July 19 and ended today, involved 20 teams comprising 320 officers and personnel from various KDNKA formations.
