A 15-year-old teenager died after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a lorry along Kilometer 53 of Jalan Teluk Intan-Klang near Sungai Haji Dorani last night.
The accident occurred at about 11.15pm, with the teenager pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Sabak Bernam District Police Chief Superintendent Md Yusof Ahmad said initial investigations found that the victim was riding a Yamaha Lagenda in the right lane while travelling from Klang towards Teluk Intan.
He said the incident happened when a lorry travelling in the left lane changed direction into the right lane and collided with the motorcycle.
“The impact caused the rider to fall onto the road before being run over by the lorry. The victim was confirmed dead at the scene,” he said when contacted today.
Md Yusof said police are currently working to locate the lorry driver following the accident.
He added that the victim’s body was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Jemaah (HTAJ) Sabak Bernam for a post-mortem examination.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
