Wrong Lane Turn Leaves Car Crashing Into Durian Stall In Kepong Baru

Date:

A car is believed to have entered the wrong lane before losing control and crashing into a durian stall along Jalan Mergastua, Kepong Baru, on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at around 10.25pm when a Toyota Corolla driven by a 29-year-old local man allegedly moved into the opposite lane before colliding with a Honda City.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department deputy chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah said the impact of the collision caused the Toyota Corolla to veer off the road and crash into a tent belonging to a nearby durian stall.

He said no injuries were reported involving both drivers or members of the public during the incident.

“Further investigations are ongoing, including recording statements from the drivers involved, obtaining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the area and identifying independent witnesses to assist with the investigation,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Suffian added that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Members of the public with information regarding the incident have been urged to come forward and assist police investigations by contacting the Tun HS Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or any nearby police station.
