A man was left shocked after discovering a badly decomposed sack believed to contain human skeletal remains while working in his orchard in Behor Mali, Kangar, on Sunday.
Kangar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said police received a report about the discovery at around 10.48am.
According to the complainant, he was spraying weedkiller in his orchard, located in front of a factory, at about 10.20am when he noticed a suspicious sack lying on the ground.
A preliminary inspection found that the sack had severely deteriorated and was suspected to contain human skeletal remains.
Following the report, a police team was dispatched to the scene to secure the area and collect evidence as investigations got underway.
The sack and its contents have been seized and will be sent to the forensic unit for further examination to determine whether the bones are indeed human.
Police said the case has yet to be classified as investigations are still ongoing to establish the identity of the remains and determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
