Japanese Fisherman’s AI Filter Mishap Goes Hilariously Viral

Date:

In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) applications have rapidly grown in popularity, especially image generation and filter features, becoming one of the hottest trends on social media. Many users enjoy applying AI filters to their everyday photos to create lifelike “3D model figurines.” However, a Japanese fishing enthusiast accidentally went viral after trying one, thanks to a hilariously “embarrassing” result.

The man, who frequently shares his fishing adventures on X, recently joined the AI filter trend by applying it to a photo of himself holding a big fish on his boat. What was originally an ordinary scene of him holding his catch turned comically wrong: the AI misinterpreted the image and added an exaggerated “third leg,” creating a bizarre “pillar-like” effect. The man could only laugh at himself, saying, “I tried the latest AI filter trend, and it turned into a big accident…”

The image quickly went viral on X, with netizens jokingly calling it the “AI giant figurine.” In a short time, it attracted millions of views, peaking at over 11 million. Online reactions were full of laughter, with comments like, “It’s outrageous, but absolutely hilarious,” “Haven’t laughed this hard in ages,” and “The size and posture are great—I mean the fish!” Some even referenced the Japanese anime Gintama, humorously likening the scene to the iconic “Armstrong Jet Armstrong Cannon” move.
