The National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 is not merely aimed at instilling discipline but also serves as a platform to develop a new generation of leaders capable of steering the country in the future.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said noticeable changes could be seen among participants after completing the 45-day training, particularly in their confidence, leadership abilities and capacity to handle responsibilities.
“Look at the way they control situations and give instructions. From the first series until now, there has certainly been improvement.
“I believe we have taken the right step by giving our young people the opportunity to understand what leadership means,” he said.
Johari was speaking after attending the closing parade for the Wira Muda Negara Training Series 3/2026 under PLKN 3.0 at the 504 Territorial Army Regiment Camp in Bukit Keteri today.
He said the experience gained throughout the programme was expected to encourage participants to carry the values and spirit of leadership with them when they pursue further studies or enter their chosen careers.
The programme, he added, provides young Malaysians with valuable exposure that can help shape their character, confidence and readiness to take on greater responsibilities in the future.
