Perikatan Nasional (PN) wants to become a partner that can strengthen the Barisan Nasional (BN) government in Negeri Sembilan rather than see the state administration remain in a fragile position, according to Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) information chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.
Speaking during Sinar Harian’s Berani Semuka forum titled “Seteru Jadi Kawan, Kawan Jadi Seteru: Politik Matang atau Huru-Hara” on Tuesday, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said PN was sincere in wanting to see the BN-led state government succeed.
He expressed confidence that PN would be able to win several seats in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election (PRN), allowing the coalition to become part of the state administration.
“We are sincere in wanting the BN government in Negeri Sembilan to succeed. God willing, we will win several seats and join the administration. We do not want the BN government here to remain in a precarious position,” he said.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal also urged voters, particularly young voters, not to “waste” their votes on the “Red Party”, claiming it would only bring back old political practices.
“To change and stabilise Negeri Sembilan, voters need to support the ‘Blue Wave’,” he said, referring to PN.
The forum was hosted by Ismail Adnan and also featured UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii and Amanah Youth chief Mohd Hasbie Muda.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said parties within the PN coalition had governing experience and were free from what he described as “toxic” political elements.
He added that PN believed its coalition could gain support from voters of all races, pointing to Johor as an example of growing acceptance for the coalition.
