Pakatan Harapan (PH) is aiming to secure a minimum of 19 seats, with an optimistic projection of winning between 21 and 22 state seats in the Negeri Sembilan state election this Saturday.
PH Election Director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the target was based on current campaign developments and the coalition’s previous election performance, although the final outcome would ultimately depend on voters’ decisions.
He expressed confidence that the leadership of Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, along with PH’s two-term administration record in the state, would give the coalition an advantage.
“We are working hard to secure at least 19 seats, and if the situation allows, we may achieve between 21 and 22 seats. That is our best expectation.
“However, we believe in the wisdom of voters and will continue campaigning as we have seen consistency since 2018,” he told reporters after attending the Kuala Pilah Berselawat and Munajat Perdana Negeri Sembilan programme at Dataran Melang here on Thursday night.
Commenting on claims that the so-called “blue wave” from Johor could influence the Negeri Sembilan election, Amirudin said the narrative was being promoted by certain parties to sway voters.
He said PH would instead continue presenting the Malaysia MADANI agenda and focus on strengthening unity among the people as its offer to voters.
“Such narratives are being created by the opposition, but here we have our own history of leadership and prominent figures.
“We will continue highlighting our solutions and the MADANI approach, focusing on unity as an answer rather than political rhetoric involving racial divisions,” he said.
A total of 867,151 ordinary voters are expected to cast their ballots after the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5 to make way for the state election.
Earlier on Tuesday, 14,995 early voters, or 91.06 per cent, had completed their voting responsibilities.
