A 25-year-old man suffered minor injuries after the sports utility vehicle (SUV) he was driving was involved in a single-vehicle accident at Kampung Batu, Marudi on Thursday evening.
The victim sustained an injury to his right hand and received initial treatment from Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel before being handed over to an ambulance from Marudi Hospital for further medical attention.
Marudi District Civil Defence Officer Lieutenant (PA) Mirwan Shah Masri said his team received an emergency call from a member of the public at about 6.38pm regarding the incident.
He said three APM personnel led by Private (PA) Beatrice Kalang were immediately deployed to the scene, which was located about 1.5km from the Marudi District Operation Control Centre (PKOD).
“Upon arrival, the team was informed that the victim, who was driving an SUV, had been involved in a single-vehicle accident.
“An assessment found that the victim had suffered a minor injury to his right hand and was unconscious. Our personnel provided initial treatment before handing him over to the Marudi Hospital ambulance for further medical care,” he said in a statement.
The rescue operation was completed at 6.50pm.
