A video circulating on Threads has gone viral after showing a schoolboy running after his parents’ car moments after accidentally pulling what appeared to be a woman’s handbag out of the vehicle while getting dropped off at school.
The video, shared by user @adamshawal6, captured the boy stepping out of the car before inadvertently dragging the handbag onto the road as the vehicle prepared to leave.
Realising what had happened, the boy appeared to pick up the bag and attempted to return it to the car.
However, before he could do so, the vehicle drove away, prompting the child to run after it while holding the bag.
During the chase, the boy stumbled and fell onto the road.
Fortunately, a vehicle travelling behind was moving at a slow speed and managed to avoid hitting the child, preventing what could have been a serious accident.
The video appeared to show the parents’ vehicle continuing to drive away without stopping. It remains unclear whether the driver noticed the boy had fallen or that the handbag had been left behind.
The boy’s condition and the events following the incident have not been confirmed.
The video has since attracted widespread attention on social media, with many users expressing concern for the child’s safety and urging parents to ensure children have safely reached the pavement before driving away.
