The Federal Government will continue to give special attention and increase support for Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) in future Budget allocations if it is entrusted to continue leading the country’s administration.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said close cooperation between the government and AIM was important in efforts to improve the economic status of low-income groups, particularly borrowers under the institution.
He said the support expected from AIM members was not for his personal benefit, but aimed at improving the well-being of the AIM community and contributing towards the country’s progress.
“As long as I am entrusted to lead this government, I will not forget AIM’s role.
“In every Budget, I will continue to give attention, strengthen cooperation and increase assistance for AIM,” he said during the launch of the Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Negeri Sembilan MADANI Entrepreneur Friends Carnival at Pantai Batu 1 here today.
Anwar also called on AIM members to continue supporting efforts to empower communities through entrepreneurship and economic development, stressing that strong cooperation between all parties would help create greater opportunities for the people.
Meanwhile, Anwar urged voters to ensure the formation of a strong state government that could work closely with the Federal Government, especially in Negeri Sembilan, to ensure assistance could be delivered more effectively.
He said a stable state administration would allow better coordination of government initiatives and ensure various forms of aid reached the people in a more organised manner.
“Give the opportunity for a stable government that focuses on serving and protecting the people. A strong Negeri Sembilan government working together with the Federal Government will make it easier for us to assist the rakyat,” he said.
