A garden hut was completely destroyed after a fire broke out at Kampung Usaha Jaya, Batu 8 in Lambir last night.
No injuries were reported in the incident, according to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).
A spokesperson from the JBPM Sarawak Operations Centre said an emergency call regarding the fire was received at about 7.46pm.
Following the alert, a team of seven firefighters from the Lopeng Fire and Rescue Station, led by Operation Commander PBK I Raymond Sigan Candang, was dispatched to the scene, located about 16km from the station.
Firefighters arrived at the location at 8.03pm and found a non-permanent garden hut measuring about seven feet by seven feet had been completely engulfed by flames.
The spokesperson said the firefighting operation was carried out using one hose line with a nozzle, while water supply was obtained from the fire engine pump until the flames were fully extinguished.
The blaze was brought under control at 8.10pm, and the operation concluded at 8.18pm after firefighters confirmed the area was safe.
The cause of the fire and the estimated losses have yet to be determined.
