Nigel Ng — the Malaysian comedian the world knows as Uncle Roger — is officially off the market! The 33-year-old tied the knot with Miami-born lawyer Sabrina Ahmed in a breathtaking three-day celebration in Sintra, Portugal, blending Chinese, Bengali, and Western traditions into one unforgettable love story.
According to Vogue, the wedding wasn’t just a party — it was a cultural mash-up that had everything from a sunset cruise to a colourful sangeet, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, and a grand reception straight out of a fairy tale.
Why Portugal? Sabrina explained it perfectly: “Portugal’s beauty reflects us — you see Chinese, Islamic and Indian influences all woven together, just like our story.”
The bride and groom stunned in four outfit changes, each loaded with meaning, symbolism, and heritage. And yes, Uncle Roger swapped the iconic orange polo for something a little more wedding-appropriate.
Their romance is just as magical. It all started in 2022 when Sabrina attended a property show where Nigel was performing. A friend described him as “that guy who jokes about rice.” At first, she wasn’t sold. But soon, Uncle Roger’s jokes — and charm — won her over. Fate stepped in when they matched on a dating app. Their first meeting? Total rom-com moment: both their flights landed at Boston Airport on 11/11/22 at exactly 3pm. “It felt destined,” Nigel said.
By March 2023, he knew she was the one. Fast forward to Tokyo, under blooming cherry blossoms — Nigel proposed. One year later, they said “I do” in Portugal.
Nigel broke the news online with his trademark humour: “Now someone please help my uncle find a wife.” The internet, of course, went wild — his post racked up thousands of likes and congratulations.
From rice jokes to wedding vows, Uncle Roger’s life just hit a new chapter — and this time, it’s not just MSG making it extra special.
