Nearly a year after the son of former Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli was allegedly attacked and pricked with a syringe, his wife says the family has yet to receive any further updates on the case.
In a Threads post, Rafizi’s wife, who uses the account @fishaofish, said the incident resurfaced in her mind after she watched a video showing an alleged attack on local football critic and YouTube content creator Azizurrahman Zakaria, also known as Joe Zakaria, on July 11.
She claimed the two incidents appeared to share similar methods, involving two men on a motorcycle who allegedly approached a vehicle before carrying out the attack.
“My son was also attacked and injected in the arm while we were about to get into our car at the waiting area outside a shopping centre in Putrajaya,” she said.
According to her, the incident occurred just days before reaching its one-year anniversary. She said her son, who was below 12 years old at the time, suffered two puncture marks on his arm and was taken to hospital for treatment.
She added that a medical examination conducted six months later found her son to be in good health, with no lasting medical issues detected.
The woman alleged that the attackers intended to intimidate her by hurting her son in front of her. She claimed one of the suspects turned the boy towards her before allegedly injecting his arm and shouting, “I’ll inject you.”
She said several people were nearby at the time, including auxiliary police personnel, although they initially did not realise what had happened.
According to her, the auxiliary police later reviewed CCTV footage and discovered what had taken place. However, she claimed the family has still not been allowed to view the footage.
Responding to another social media user, she also alleged that her family had no personal dispute with anyone but believed the incident could have been linked to individuals who had issues with her husband.
Rafizi had previously revealed on August 13 last year that his son was allegedly attacked by two helmeted men dressed in black while the family was preparing to enter their vehicle at a shopping centre in Putrajaya.
He said at the time that his son had allegedly been dragged and pricked with a syringe, while checks indicated that two men on a motorcycle had reportedly followed his wife’s vehicle.
Rafizi had described the incident as an alleged warning intended to pressure him into remaining silent on several issues.
