Viral Pickup Driven By Rohingya Man Seized In Kedah JPJ Operation

Date:

A pickup truck that recently went viral on social media after allegedly being driven by a Rohingya man has been detained and seized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Kedah.

The Isuzu D-Max was stopped along Jalan Timur 1 during an Operation Foreign National Drivers (PEWA) at around 8.07am today.

Kedah JPJ director Stien Van Lutam said the vehicle was being driven by a 33-year-old Rohingya man who works as a project site supervisor.

“Checks found that the driver did not possess a Competent Driving Licence (CDL), while the pickup had a valid Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) and insurance coverage.

“Investigations found that the pickup had been used since May and belonged to a company, which had allegedly provided the vehicle to the man for his daily work,” he said.
