Two premises in Seremban and Kuala Pilah were raided after they were suspected of selling fertiliser, a scheduled controlled item, without valid licences under Ops Tiris 4.0 on Monday.
The operation was conducted by the Negeri Sembilan branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) as part of inspections targeting premises involved in the trading of controlled fertiliser across the state.
Negeri Sembilan KPDN director Muhammad Zahir Mazlan said officers identified one suspected offence at each of the two locations.
“Checks found that both premises were allegedly selling controlled goods without holding valid licences to sell controlled items.
“The total value of the seized items was RM29,000, and the cases are being investigated under Section 16 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961,” he said when contacted.
The enforcement action is part of ongoing efforts to ensure businesses dealing in controlled goods comply with licensing requirements and prevent unauthorised sales.
Under the provision, individuals found guilty may face a fine of up to RM1 million, imprisonment for up to three years, or both.
For corporations, the law provides for a maximum fine of RM2 million upon conviction.
