Ally Mukhriz, daughter of Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, has welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah.
The newborn, who weighed 2.9kg, is the first great-grandchild of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
Ally, whose full name is Meera Alyanna Mukhriz, announced the joyful news on social media on Monday, revealing that her son was born at 8.48am on August 16.
She said she and her husband, Ezran Daud Cheah, were delighted to welcome their first child after years of anticipation.
“Ezran and I are happy to announce the birth of our baby boy, Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah. Born 16.08.26 at 8.48am, weighing 2.9kg.
“Thank you everyone for sending your well wishes and we hope to share more soon,” she wrote.
Ally’s mother, Tok Puan Norzieta Zakaria, also expressed her happiness over the arrival of her first grandchild, sharing a heartfelt message on social media.
The birth marks a particularly meaningful milestone for the family after Ally publicly revealed in February that she was expecting following a lengthy fertility journey, which included in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.
Ally and Ezran tied the knot on February 20, 2020, and the couple have since shared parts of their journey towards parenthood with their followers online.
News of Eden’s arrival was warmly received by family members, friends and followers, who filled the couple’s social media posts with congratulatory messages and well wishes for the new family.
