A police officer was left furious after discovering numerous nails and metal objects scattered across a road leading to Cybersouth, Dengkil, early yesterday morning.
The officer shared the incident on his Threads account, ujangtakaful551, along with a video showing him and a fellow officer collecting the objects from the road.
He said the dangerous debris was discovered while he and his colleague, Mizi, were conducting a patrol at around 5.30am.
“We were on patrol when we noticed something shiny on the road. Mizi and I immediately picked them up and threw them to the side as there were already many cars and motorcycles heading to work,” he said.
The officer expressed his anger towards the person believed to have deliberately left the objects on the road, warning that such an act could endanger motorists, particularly motorcyclists.
“This is not something to take lightly. A nail puncturing a motorcycle or car tyre could cause a breakdown and potentially lead to an accident.
“This is about road safety. A punctured motorcycle or car tyre could result in an accident. We all have families, so think about that,” he said.
His post has since drawn attention online, with the officer urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist the authorities.
Meanwhile, a Threads user, Hafizuddin Ghazali, claimed he had previously spotted a dark red second-generation Perodua Myvi carrying three people at the same location during the early hours of the morning.
“Sir, there was one time I was heading home at around 3am. I saw a dark red Myvi Gen 2 with three people at the same spot where the nails were scattered.
“I did not dare stop to see what they were doing because I was alone and riding a motorcycle. I suspected the three of them were involved in something suspicious,” he claimed.
The allegations have not been independently verified, while the officer’s discovery has highlighted concerns over the dangers posed by objects deliberately left on busy roads.
