“Walls Were Shaking” — Bomb Explosions In Southern Thailand Felt In Kelantan

Date:

Residents near the southern Thailand border were left alarmed after loud explosions, believed to be linked to bomb blasts, were reportedly heard late last night.

One Threads user, Sakeena, said the explosion was so powerful that it caused the walls of her house to shake. She initially mistook the sound for thunder as light rain and thunderstorms had been occurring in the area since around 7pm.

She said she had earlier seen reports about a bombing in Narathiwat at around 8pm but did not expect the impact of the blast to be felt from where she was staying. She later learned that an explosion had also occurred in Golok.

Another Threads user, Nuraikanasir, claimed her cousin living in Narathiwat was among those affected by the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. She said her cousin’s condition was stable.

The user also expressed concern over the incident, particularly for Malaysians with family members living in southern Thailand. She urged those planning to travel to Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani to consider postponing their trips until the security situation improves.

Meanwhile, another user, Hasifdarimi, claimed the impact of the explosion in Narathiwat was felt as far as Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, with the blast reportedly causing houses in the area to shake.

He also expressed concern over reports of incidents occurring in Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat on the same night, while hoping Malaysians and other residents in the affected areas remained safe.

Another user, Addazhn, similarly advised Malaysians planning to visit the affected areas to reconsider their travel plans temporarily. The user claimed Narathiwat had been placed under a curfew and urged travellers to postpone their plans until the situation becomes safer.
