Saravanan Arrives At Court To Face Expected Corruption Charge, Supporters Gather

Date:

Former human resources minister M Saravanan arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex this morning, where dozens of supporters dressed in black gathered to show their support ahead of his expected corruption charge.

Saravanan reached the court premises at about 8.25am wearing a white shirt, black suit and dark sunglasses.

Before entering the building, he briefly addressed members of the media and supporters, saying: “The rakyat knows what’s happening.”

Supporters had started assembling outside the court complex as early as 7.51am, with the crowd growing to about 70 people by the time Saravanan arrived.

MIC president SA Vigneswaran was also seen at the court complex at around 8.40am to show his support for his deputy.

Saravanan is expected to be charged with corruption at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today.

The former minister has consistently denied any wrongdoing during his tenure as human resources minister, which ran from March 2020 until November 2022.

The court appearance marks a significant development in the case as Saravanan prepares to face the charge following the conclusion of investigations into the alleged offence.
