‘How Could We Spend More?’ Zahid Says KKDW Will Stick To Approved Budget

Date:

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has stressed that the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) will not spend beyond the allocation approved by the government.

Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, said the ministry would only spend according to the allocation stated in the Budget Speech or the amount approved by the government.

“No ministry has ever spent more than what was allocated. What is being spent indirectly answers the question raised by the Treasury secretary-general (KSP).

“How much allocation is available? There is no such thing as a perfect budget. How could KKDW spend beyond the amount stated in the Budget Speech or the allocation provided?” he said.

He was speaking at the opening session of the Strategic Cooperation Workshop involving KKDW’s Pusat Komuniti Desa (PKD) and Pusat Sebaran Maklumat Nasional (NADI) here today.
