25-Year-Old Taska Assistant Remanded Over Alleged Rough Treatment Of Two-Year-Old

Date:

Police have detained a 25-year-old taska assistant in Mentakab, Temerloh, to assist investigations into the alleged rough treatment of a two-year-old child at a childcare centre.

Temerloh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron said the woman was arrested at the Temerloh district police headquarters yesterday.

“The suspect was detained to assist investigations under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.

“She has been remanded for six days starting today,” he said.

The case came to light after a 22-second video went viral on social media on Saturday, allegedly showing a woman scolding and handling a crying child at the childcare centre.

The incident reportedly took place two days before the video went viral.

Police opened an investigation after receiving a report from the child’s 29-year-old mother, who lodged the report following the alleged incident involving her two-year-old child.

The incident was reportedly witnessed by two other women, who were believed to be caring for two other children sent to the same childcare centre.

Police are continuing investigations into the case.
