Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has been urged to explain who allegedly pressured him into signing a proclamation document seeking the removal of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
Negeri Sembilan PKR Youth (AMK) chief Mohamad Hamizan Mohd Bahtiar said the group viewed the allegation seriously, adding that any claim of pressure should be openly addressed so the public can understand what actually happened.
“If the Menteri Besar was indeed pressured into signing the document, the most important questions are who pressured or forced him, and what form that pressure took?
“Why was he pressured, and under what circumstances was the document signed?” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Hamizan said the issue could not be taken lightly as it involved the integrity of the state administration and the Menteri Besar’s freedom to make decisions.
He added that AMK Negeri Sembilan was not interested in drawing conclusions based solely on allegations.
“The Menteri Besar’s previous statement expressing his support and loyalty to Tuanku Muhriz does not, by itself, answer the main question being raised.
“This is not about loyalty. The question is who pressured the Menteri Besar into signing the document. The people deserve a clear and direct explanation,” he said.
