‘As A Wife, I Feel Disappointed’: Rosmah Speaks Out On Najib’s Pardon Delay

Date:

The family of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has expressed disappointment after the outcome of his pardon application fell short of their expectations.

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, when contacted, said the family had been disappointed as they had expected a different outcome from the decision announced.

“As a wife, I feel disappointed. Especially when I read the news about Peter Anthony being allowed to return home. I am happy for his wife and family.

“How am I supposed to explain to my grandchildren about the hopes they had? The only thing we can do is teach them to always pray and leave everything to Allah. Insya-Allah, one day there will be light at the end of the tunnel,” she told BH.

Rosmah also thanked Najib’s supporters who had placed high hopes on the pardon decision and were subsequently left disappointed.

“To all supporters who placed high hopes and were subsequently disappointed, thank you for all your prayers and messages of support. My husband knows that all of you out there continue to pray for him,” she said.

The development has continued to draw public attention, particularly among Najib’s supporters who had been awaiting a positive outcome concerning his legal status and future.

Earlier, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim consented to Najib’s pardon application being deferred to a future meeting of the Pardons Board.

The Legal Affairs Division (BHEUU) of the Prime Minister’s Department said the decision was made at the 63rd meeting of the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya, held on Friday.
