Man Killed After Being Trapped In Hilux In Seven-Vehicle Crash

A 44-year-old man was killed after he was trapped inside a Toyota Hilux involved in a crash with seven other vehicles and a motorcycle at a traffic light junction along Jalan Kolam here on Monday morning.

Jalan Lintas Fire and Rescue Station chief Assistant Senior Fire Officer Noor Sherriyana Bohari said the station received an emergency call at 6.33am.

She said six firefighters and a fire engine were immediately dispatched to the scene.

“Firemen used special rescue equipment to extricate the victim, who was trapped inside the vehicle.

“The victim was extricated but was pronounced dead at the scene,” she said in a statement today.

The victim was pronounced dead by Health Ministry medical personnel at the scene.

Noor Sherriyana said the man’s remains were subsequently handed over to police for further action.

The rescue operation ended at 7.55am after the scene was declared safe.
