PMO: Anwar Never Signed Letter Claiming Approval For PLUS Highway Project

Date:

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has denied a purported letter claiming that the Cabinet had approved a proposed Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project to widen the PLUS Expressway, saying the document dated July 17, 2026 is fake.

In a statement on Thursday, the PMO stressed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had never issued or signed the letter and denied any involvement in the document or the purported approval.

“The PMO has lodged a police report over the forgery of the document and the misuse of the Prime Minister’s name and the PMO’s official identity.

“Appropriate legal action will be taken against any party found to be involved,” it said.

The PMO also advised the public not to be deceived by, circulate or share the fake document.
