Gua Musang Floods Affect Nine Main Roads, 260 Victims Evacuated

Nine main roads serving villages in Gua Musang have been affected by flooding following heavy rain since Saturday night.

Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said five of the affected routes had since been reopened, while four remained impassable to vehicles.

The affected routes include Sungai Asap B, Jalan Renok Baru A, Kampung Baru Jeram Tekoh, Taman Agropolitan Rantau Manis, Felda Perasu, Felda Chiku 7, Serian Batu 11 and Jambatan Sungai Kerak Limau Kasturi 1.

“The four routes that remain affected, namely Felda Chiku 7, Jalan Serian Batu 11, Jambatan Sungai Kerak Limau Kasturi and the road leading to the Felda Chiku 7 settlement, cannot be used by light vehicles,” he said.

Sik advised motorists and residents to exercise caution when travelling through flooded areas and follow instructions from the authorities to ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, according to the Social Welfare Department’s Info Banjir portal, five temporary relief centres (PPS) had been opened as of this afternoon, housing 260 flood victims from 67 families.

The centres are at Masjid Jeram Tekoh, Dewan Orang Ramai Zon 3 Jeram Tekoh, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Jeram Tekoh, Balai Raya Felda Chiku 6 and SK Limau Kasturi 1.
