Two Schoolgirls Killed In Motorcycle-Car Crash In Tambun

Two schoolgirls were killed while another was seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car in Taman Perpaduan Ria, Tambun, here today.

The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call about the crash involving a Yamaha EZ115 motorcycle and a Proton Saga at around 7.22am.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said initial information indicated that the motorcycle was carrying three female students who were on their way to school.

“Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel, while another was seriously injured,” he said in a statement.

The injured 12-year-old student received initial treatment from members of the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), including the fitting of a cervical collar, before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

The bodies of the two students who died were handed over to police for further action.

The operation involved three firefighters and an EMRS vehicle and was fully completed at 8.33am.
