A post-mortem examination on a 16-year-old student found dead at a secondary school in Yong Peng, Batu Pahat, last Saturday found no evidence of sexual assault, police said.
Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the preliminary report showed that the student had suffered several injuries to her head and body before she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The preliminary report has been received and there were no signs of sexual assault as alleged,” he told Utusan Malaysia yesterday.
Ab Rahaman also warned that strict action could be taken against anyone who shares information or images involving the victim or suspects, as both are minors.
He said the restriction is provided for under the Child Act 2001 and urged the public not to circulate unverified information.
“Such matters are difficult to control, but we must not spread information that has not been verified,” he said.
The Form Four student was found dead inside a school hall last Saturday in an incident being investigated as a suspected murder.
Her grandmother discovered her after going to the school when the teenager had not returned home by around 5.30pm.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
