TWICE member Tzuyu has become the centre of an online controversy after a Taiwanese photographer criticised her appearance, describing her as having “thick legs and a 50-50 body proportion”. The remarks sparked backlash from fans, who flooded the photographer’s Google business profile with one-star reviews, causing his rating to drop to 3.6 stars at one point.

The Taiwanese singer recently attended the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix on October 8, wearing a Williams Racing jacket over a black strapless top, paired with hot pants and knee-high boots. Her appearance attracted widespread attention after photos from the event circulated online.
Tzuyu’s international activities have also been expanding. She is reportedly set to perform the official theme song for a collaboration between Williams Racing and the Japanese anime DAN DA DAN.
However, a photographer based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, drew criticism after posting negative comments about the singer’s appearance online. The photographer claimed to have photographed thousands of women and described Tzuyu as having “thick legs and a 50-50 body proportion”, adding that her looks and figure were “really just average”.
His comments quickly angered Tzuyu’s fans and other social media users, with many questioning why he felt the need to publicly criticise the singer’s appearance. Some also raised concerns about how he might judge his own clients if he was willing to make such remarks about a well-known celebrity.
As the controversy grew, the photographer’s Google business rating reportedly fell to 3.6 stars. Images of him and examples of his previous photography work also began circulating on social media.
The photographer subsequently set his Threads account to private and issued a public apology in the Google business review section.
“I should not have criticised Ms Tzuyu. I sincerely apologise,” he wrote, while asking users who had left one-star reviews to withdraw their negative ratings.
