The Finance Ministry (MOF) has dismissed a viral poster claiming that service charges for quick response (QR) code payments will be introduced on Nov 1, 2026, describing the information as false.

In a Facebook post, the ministry clarified that no official announcement had been made regarding the introduction of such charges.

“The public is advised not to believe or share the poster claiming that QR payment service charges will be introduced on Nov 1, 2026, as the information is false,” it said.

MOF also urged the public to verify information through its official channels before sharing it to prevent the spread of fake news and avoid misleading others.
