Disabled Driver Dies After Being Thrown From Car In Bera Crash

Date:

A 43-year-old disabled man was killed after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into a slope along Jalan Mengkarak Station in Bera on Sunday.

The victim, Sin Wee Liang, from Taman Berlian, was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident, which occurred at around 1pm.

Bera district police chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir said preliminary investigations found that Sin was driving a Honda City from Triang towards Mengkarak.

Upon reaching the location, the car is believed to have lost control before veering off the road and mounting a slope on the right-hand side.

“The vehicle spun before falling onto the road shoulder. The impact threw the victim into a drain on the right side of the road,” Zulkiflee said.

The victim’s body was taken to Bera Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Zulkiflee added that blood and urine samples had been collected from the victim for toxicology tests.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
