AKPS Chief Granted RM3,000 Bail In KLIA Assault Case

Date:

Agensi Kawalan dan Perlindungan Sempadan (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has been granted RM3,000 bail after pleading not guilty to two counts of voluntarily causing hurt to two policemen in an incident at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last month.

Mohd Shuhaily, 54, entered his plea after the charges were read out before Magistrate Khairatul Animah Jelani at the Magistrate’s Court today.

“I understand, I plead not guilty and claim trial,” he said.

The court granted him bail of RM1,500 for each charge, bringing the total to RM3,000.

However, the court rejected the defence’s application to exempt him from attending future court proceedings.

The case was fixed for mention on Nov 25.
