Heavy Rain Triggers Flooding Across Several Areas In Penang

Date:

Several areas across Penang have been hit by floods following continuous heavy rain from Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Affected locations include Bayan Baru, Bukit Jambul, Farlim, the Bukit Kukus Paired Road, Jelutong, Greenlane, Butterworth, Permatang Pauh, Jalan P Ramlee and Jalan Scotland.

Heavy rain is still ongoing, raising concerns that adverse weather conditions could persist and cause further flooding.

However, details on water levels, the total number of affected areas and whether residents have been evacuated have yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

Members of the public are advised to avoid flooded roads and stay updated on the latest developments and instructions from the authorities, particularly if heavy rain continues.
