Four Pilots Dead After Two Training Aircrafts Crash During Training

Date:

Four Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilots were killed after two SF-260 aircraft crashed during a training flight in Batangas province, northern Philippines, on Friday.

The PAF confirmed the deaths on Saturday, according to Xinhua, saying both aircraft went down near an airbase in Lipa City at about 3.51pm local time on Friday.

Following the crashes, the PAF temporarily suspended flight operations involving all its SF-260 aircraft while an investigation is carried out to determine the cause of the accidents.

The SF-260 is a light aircraft used by the Philippine Air Force for pilot training.

The latest incident follows another fatal SF-260 crash in the mountainous province of Benguet in northern Philippines on May 20 this year, which killed two pilots, Bernama reported.
