Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun emerged champions at the French Open after defeating compatriots Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in an all-Malaysian final on Sunday.

The world No. 11 pair staged an impressive comeback at the Arena Grand Paris, overcoming a first-game defeat to secure a 13-21, 21-15, 21-7 victory in just 44 minutes.

World No. 5 pair Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin started strongly, taking control of the opening game to win 21-13.

However, Wei Chong and Kai Wun fought back in the second game, delivering a convincing 21-15 win to force a decider.

Carrying their momentum into the third game, the Malaysian duo dominated their opponents and sealed the championship with a commanding 21-7 victory.

The triumph marked a historic achievement for Malaysia, ending a 22-year wait for a men’s doubles title at the prestigious French Open.

The last Malaysian men’s doubles pair to win the tournament were Gan Teik Chai and Koo Kien Keat in 2004.
